Neuromuscular Theme Workshop

Dr Michael Grey will be hosting this workshop for the Centre on Thursday 26th June 2014 in Lecture Theatre 1 in the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences.

The mornings events will run from 9:30 am to 12 pm and will be primarily aimed at PhD students, postdocs and early career Researchers – These sessions will give attendees the opportunity to see lab demonstrations related to neuromuscular ageing and will demonstrate a novel rapid assessment of corticospinal plasticity using TMS, Vestibular and balance measurements, and a robotic device for assessment of reach function.

The afternoon presentations will run from 1 pm – 5 pm. There will be a keynote talk from Professor Simon Gandevia who will be joining us from Neuroscience Research Australia to give his unique insight into the field of motor control and motor impairments and we are also pleased to invite UK researchers  Professor Neil Reeves (MMU), Dr Mark Hollands (LJMU), and Dr Raymond Reynolds (UoB) who will discuss ageing with a special focus on the problem of balance, sensory perception and falls.
