Dr Daisy Wilson wins a scientific poster prize at the British Geriatrics Society

CMAR funded clinical PhD student, Dr Daisy Wilson, won the scientific prize at the British Geriatrics Society (BGS). The British Geriatrics Society was founded in 1947 for “the relief of suffering and distress amongst the aged and infirm by the improvement of standards of medical care for such persons, the holding of meetings and the publication and distribution of the results of research”.

Daisy who is supervised by Professor Janet Lord and Dr Liz Sapey,  presented a poster on neutrophil dysfunction in frailty. She is currently in the final phase of writing up her Clinical PhD on ‘Impaired pAkt regulation in muscle and immune cells: Targeting a shared mechanism in sarcopenia and immunesenescence’
