Two of the Centre’s Primary Investigators Dr Carolyn Greig and Dr Anna Phillips both have articles featuring in the Spring edition of ‘Innov-age magazine’
As well as having a spotlight profile in the magazine Dr Anna Philips talks about the research she is currently undertaking as to why older people are far more prone to infection after suffering a hip fracture than young patients with the same injury and whether depression plays a role in this in the article ‘Depression after hip fracture among older adults’.
Dr Carolyn Greig’s article discusses the question ‘can vitamin D supplementation enhance the effects of strength training in frail older adults?’ Within this Dr Greig focuses on existing research into the area as well as discussing the exploratory study she is about to undertake on this subject
