Health Select Committee Evidence

The Centre made its contribution to the House of Commons Health Select committee inquiry on Physical Activity and Diet this week with a document created from a collaboration between 10 of the Centre’s primary investigators across both Universities including Centre Director Professor Janet Lord and Centre Deputy Director Professor Paul Greenhaff.

The Health Committee decided to hold this inquiry into the impact of diet and exercise on physical and mental health, in both children and adults, with a focus on a ‘what works’ approach to achieving a healthy weight and increasing physical activity.

The submission from our Centre was designed to show consideration to preventative and reversal approaches of diet and exercise to age-associated changes in musculoskeletal function and health and included citations from various relevant publications produced by Centre members.
